About This Service
Great Hills Baptist Church is called by God to serve Austin and beyond by sharing the gospel of Christ, making disciples, and loving our community so well that we reflect God and bring Him praise. God put Great Hills in a strategic location to worship Him (make Him our greatest focus), make disciples (form Him in our lives), and impact others around us (share His love in word and deed). As we focus on fulfilling our calling as a church, God will build in us a flourishing church marked by love and devotion to His name. In short: To draw our community to Christ by focusing our lives Upward in Worship, Inward in Discipleship, and Outward in Impact.

Feel the love of Christ moment I walk in the church, I was a member of Allendale Baptist Church from 1981 to 1984 when I was living in Austin and now I'm a member of Great Hills Baptist Church since 1995, I recommend this church to anyone, you'll be loved on like crazy there.

Even though I was not involved in its formation 40 yrs ago, I am deeply saddened after hearing about its sale to another church. It’s not a trivial thing to polarize the church and cause 85% of the liberal leaning members to leave so that the fraction that remained, are 95% aligned behind the pastor’s vision to sell the property and his quest to create a legacy for his next generation in the LibertyHill area. At least happy that it’s going to another (Austin Ridge) church who are excited that 500 of its members will find it closer and it can probably reattract the members that it lost from the 250K population within a 5 mile radius. It is sad that none of the Great Hills members were able to hold on to the property that took prayers and sacrifices of the generation that built it.
