There is a awesome treatment center located here. It doesn't look to great when you arrive there but when you walk inside it is a clean and friendly atmosphere. The people are friendly and helpful. You feel comfortable knowing your loved ones are being cared for.

I stayed at the Gospel Rescue Mission expecting support and stability because my fiancé and son stay there while we can get back on our feet. What I got instead was a controlling, unsanitary, and exploitative environment. I wasn’t allowed to see my girlfriend unless monitored, and even then I could only step out for seconds at a time. Privacy and dignity were basically nonexistent. Every day I was expected to work for free, yet still had to pay to stay there. That’s not help that’s forced labor disguised as charity. I left feeling more disrespected and discouraged than when I walked in. I stayed at the Gospel Rescue Mission expecting support and stability. What I got instead was a controlling, unsanitary, and exploitative environment. I wasn’t allowed to see my fiancé unless monitored, and even then I could only step out for seconds at a time. Privacy and dignity were basically nonexistent. Felt controlling, judgmental, even unsafe at times. I was told the first week I came in I was being judged by one of the counselors there. A lot of them tie assistance to religious participation, which isn’t for everyone, and some enforce strict rules that treat grown adults like kids or even criminals. For someone independent, experienced, and trying to stand back up on their feet for your family being in that kind of environment could feel more like punishment than support. This place may claim to help, but they need to be held accountable for the way they treat people.

This place has the only beds in the county for single Fathers but me and my Son were sent out into the rainy cold streets after checking in night after night and being told they were full, and while being denied again, a "walk in" female on probation was given a bed in front of me. When I asked how this could be I was told that the room was occupied by a female roommate. Clearly this can prevent them from ever having a bed available for single Fathers. Since this incident my Son was taken by CPS and is now adopted to an unknown family. I don't know what the Gospel center's mission is, but it certainly isn't rescuing.
