Was the 3rd person to pay a fee and it took almost an hour to pay it the lobby full and 1 person working totally disappointed

Recently discovered my name and date of birth were used, likely by my former roommate, 18 years ago to get out of a ticket. There’s literally been a ticket in my name, just sitting in the system for the last 18 years, and I had no idea. For the last 12 of those 18 years, I’ve worked in law-enforcement and still had no idea. I wrote a letter to a judge to explain that it was impossible I had received that ticket because I no longer lived in Arizona at the time. I broke down a complete timeline, I called my previous apartment complex and called the dorms at Arizona State University West campus to request a copy of my lease agreement to prove I was no longer living in the state when that ticket was issued. Both places told me they don’t keep those records in the office and could not email or fax that information to me. My transcripts show I didn’t go to school during that semester, but that doesn’t prove I wasn’t living in the state. It’s insane to me that after 18 years, they won’t just dismiss a ticket. If I had the time to wait, I would mail in a formal request for all the information I needed but unfortunately driver’s licenses do expire and I don’t need a ticket for driving without one just to prove it wasn’t me. Add this to the list of reasons I’m glad I no longer live there.

I have called twice to try to make a payment and haven’t gotten a call back, I was even placed on the phone call hold list
