Family Violence Program of St. Bernard

These people allow woman who abuse the system to get help rather then helping woman who are actually victims of Domestic Violence this place should be investigated and shut down!!!

I'm currently homeless and living in my vehicle after being kicked out of the program. I entered the program end of October and was kicked out at noon December 13, 2024. I was a resident and abided by all the rules. On Thanksgiving every resident received a Turkey except for me. There were so many left over the staff members took some home. For Christmas I was overlooked as well with the wish list for the residents. There wasn't 32 families in need. The staff received most of the gifts for them and their families. I was the only resident that didn't receive funding for housing although it was available. On November 26, 2024 a resident received a voucher for $9,.000.00. The resident and myself had the same social worker whom repeatedly told me that funding wouldn't be available until January. They don't support members of the LGBTQ community and force them to transfer to other facilities for housing by stating that their mate found out where they live. I followed all the rules and last thing I thought I would end up homeless and living in my vehicle. Mentally I'm trying to maintain but it's challenging with the weather and stipulations I'm now forced to live with. I had a meeting with the CEO and the result didn't end how we discussed in the meeting. The Intervention Coordinator and Housing Coordinator refused to help me get housing and funded every other resident besides myself with a voucher. I need help with housing until then I'll be living in my vehicle.
