I gave this place zero stars. They did not help my child and I out at all bc I stated I got back on the bus from another state and not spend the night in Texas homeless that night I was denied service. I’ve been living in Texas for almost 10 years now but my situation all of the sudden changed due to a family situation. I sat in the office almost all day until I finally asked for the hr to file a complaint to let them know they have to place me somewhere due to another manager with another agency informed me. I was also denied to speak to someone and the phone number to file a complaint. After a two more hours they finally called me a Uber and sent me to the Salvation Army in Fort Worth. Where they did not have any rooms for a family which my child and I was going to have to stay in a overflow in the gym and sleep on a bad. I felt that was unsafe due to she’s a newborn and an unstable environment not safe environment for her so I left. I found others shelters that wasn’t able to help families but help to refer me back to family gateway which they turned me away again. The staff is rube they no one there cares about helping people this place needs to be shut down they’re only in it for the government money and pick and choose who they want to help. Even tho I’m very qualified for the assistance.

This place is the best, and the Staff is Amazing, u can't beat it! U sleep comfortably, they also prepare meals 3 times a day! U get to wash and they u with washing pods etc. Personal hygiene stuff, have Activities for the kids!! They also have a playground!! And if u need An counselor they can refer u in the right Direction! Family Gateway! Is the right way to go! You just have to be about your Business! And things done! And everything will move smoothly,

This place was an amazing place thay gave me and my family a place to stay when we were suffering Homelessness. The staff was amazing and friendly. The kindness threw out this place and the entire experience was just mind blowing!!! I love this place for everything that they did for my family and for myself!!! I definitely suggest this place if you or anyone you know has children under the age of 18 and is suffering Homelessness or is at risk of homelessness, the kindness found here is definitely God sent!!!!

I understand certain policies, but what I cannot understand is that they do not service outside Dallas County. Basically, because my daughter recently became homeless in Tarrant County she cannot be assisted. She has two small children and I am in no position to put her up in a place to stay so once I relocate it looks like she will be on the street. It's amazing how society or should I say in the state of Texas they are so willing to turn a person away due to the county they live in. Thanks for no help!

I reached out to this Organization-last night on 2/22/2022 explaining my situation on how my daughter and I became homeless. because the incident happen in Tarrant county. I’m unable to receive assistance I was involved in a house fire that was not my fault but cause me now to live out my car until I found a lovely couple who open their home until I’m able to find shelter or help who lives in Dallas country will soon be homeless due to the lovely couple having really no space for my daughter and I. But still this organization family gateway turn my daughter and I away. I have no family here in Texas to help with anything. Can’t work because I work from home i have no wifi Service. I’m barely getting by. I was told to contact 211 in which I been doing that since being homeless I call 211 pretty much every day and get no where. Red Cross is the only one so far who cares enough to help with a couple nights in the hotel. It’s only so much they can help with. Iam grateful I appreciate all the help I can get. I never once thought a place who help people would turn my little family away due to a county Restriction well I will become homeless in Dallas County being these two lovely couples lives in Dallas County then what I do? My apartment complex told me I would be able to get out my lease due to not having any open apartments. My rental insurance still processing paper work I need help please. Only way I can see is ending it all I’m sorry but now I see why people takes they life. No one cares I lived a very honest life try to do the right thing but look I have no one to look out for me. I relocate to Dallas Texas thinking I would have a better life. I’m getting turnt away.
