I found the people there to be most helpful in walking me through the situation in dealing with my mentally ill son that I needed an order of protection on. The Legal Aid is available at the courtroom should you need a representative. I have referred several there. The Judge is very fair and understanding.

They didn’t wanna help me and my kids with a dv case going on don’t call and waste your time

I just came from there do to an abuser who is sill stalking me and this shelter didnt not help me at all. They dont do anything to those who dont obay the rules stay out all night dont call in or come home at night on drugs,when they go for certain meetings. They allow people to have clicks which puts a lot of people at risk, for their life. They dont condone disrespect either of your property etc. They allow name calling and they slap the person on the wrist and tell them not to do it again. I felt unsafe there, i felt like i had no protection and im usually right. If they took the time and compaszion that it took to set up the rules it would have helped a great deal but they dont at all. The case managers dont help you in anyway and they usually will bad mouth you to another shelter so you can never get in there at all. I wouls never send a friend or an enemy to this place. I have been told that i am a liar because i know some country singers and because their brother played high school foot ball with the same person, from day one she has called me names made jokes about and have everyone turn against me. Im glad i am over near my friends house from Douglas Lake. They have bullies there who they dont punish at all. This is not a safe house but some place where you are not as safe as you think you should be. If i had known that i would not have gone there there are some good people there but the ones that are bad out weigh the good. TO BAD THEY CANT SEE THAT BUT WHEN YOU ARE BLIND IN ONE AND CANT SEE OUT OF THE OTHER THIS IS THE BAD PART. THEY NEED TO OPEN THEIR EYES NOT OVER LOOK IT.
