It felt like home. The staff was amazing. It was really hard for my daughter and I to leave. My daughter loved the other kids. Staff was super thoughtful and caring. If your a Mom or Dad in a crisis, this is definitely a place to feel safe.

Empower Yolo is a lying, dishonest, and anti-Father group. I know this 1st hand not from just 1 but 2 interactions with them. The 1st time they simply refused to help a Father of 3 even though I was directed to them by both the Court and CPS..they never returned my multiple phone calls. It took CPS contacting their Director before they coughed up an explanation as to why they refused to help a Father in need.
Second time they met with me, even though I didn't really want them to. I told them to their face about how they failed to help me. Their liaison apologized and promised multiple times she would NOT do that to me again.
Empower Yolo ghosted me a 2nd time. I never heard from them again.
They lied to my face! I wasn't at all surprised.
They defend bad mothers and do not support Court Orders or struggling Fathers or assist parents of abused children.
They play politics and are sexist - preferring woman over men.
They have a terrible reputation. From my perspective they mis use tax payer money by taking sides and NOT helping those in true need. 😡

I wanted to think long and hard about my review... so I will say this. Empower has changed my whole life! I came to them so broken and numb with three scared kids! I mean for me I came from a very Abusive husband so I had to shed those layers and change my mind set ...the staff here help with that.. the Therapy really helped.. ND having to get up and really put in work for housing and the program helped...I love all the staff! even the Director she is so very sweet..she feels like a mom to me ..lol I'm never going to forget the place who told me I can do anything .I can put mind too ...I'm never going to forget that they gave me the opportunity to grow into the person/mom i truly want to be.....SRY I FORGOT TO MENTION MY HOME Skillet biscuit MISS KAT!SHE'S MY DAY ONE STAFF MEMBER..she gave me the step by step on how to work really hard on the program and the step by step on how to get housing...i love all the other staff there also..when i use to sit in the Directors office and talk to her about how bad i feel about things not working out nd how i feel like a Failure.. she would sit back and look at me and say"you remember the person you we're when you came through that door?"and now you see the women you are sitting here in frount of me?!two different people! Youve come so far in just a little bit of time! If its ment to be it will be!] If its not let it go! thank you so very much! Love yall!!! Peace and love! Yall touched my heart forever 💓
