After attending FBC, Shelbyville for about a year, my wife, Jeri, and I joined the FBC Family. Before I retired, my work took me all over the United States and Canada. I attended church where ever I lived. If there was a Baptist church near by, I attended it. If there wasn’t, I attended the next best thing. I attended churches as small as 30 people and as large as 10 thousand. Now, I said all that to say this: FBC Shelbyville is the best of them all. It is the best church I have ever attended, and the pastor is the most loving and caring of any pastor I have ever known. Pastor Jeff delivers the Sunday morning message with authority, with respect for scripture, and with knowledge of both the Old Testament and the New Testament. That is important because the key that unlocks the treasures of the OT is the NT, Pastor Jeff uses that key almost every service. And did I mention, he also teaches a Sunday morning class? I might also mention that the church members are much like Pastor Jeff...they too are loving and caring, even more so if you are a new member. One of the things I like most about my church home is: there are no clicks that treat you like an outsider. There isn’t a family dynasty that controls every aspect of the church and acts as though the church belongs to them. New members are treated with the same respect and dignity as the oldest member. One last thing, the music is really good. The songs that are selected are God centered instead of people centered. The members up front that sing and play instruments do so at the professional level, and Zack brings it all together in the most God worshiping way. The music portion of the service simply cannot be beat...and it is never so loud that you have to ware ear plugs. But the most important thing is that God shows up for every service. My wife and I often comment on the presents of the Holy Spirit in the Sunday morn service. You can feel His presents. If you have been a Christian for very long, you know what I mean. A church where we come as we are in order to learn and encourage each other to be who we should. Great leadership from the pastor. Great people.

The Living Christmas Tree production was fantastic - a Christ centered message with invitation. We enjoyed visiting.

I meet some lady's at a rec center out here and they invited me to a women's study group. So I attended and they were very welcoming the group they made me feel right at home and it was very eventful. The people who attend were great people. They made me laugh and smile. It was a good time.

This has been my church home for over three years now and thought I don't get to attend every Sunday or Wednesday it's great when I do get back and I'm able to see all of the great fellow Christians that also call it home. The passion for Christ is strong!
