I had the most incredible lemon bar baked by the Hope Bakery! My husband had a cream cheese pastry and loved that as well. They had baked goods for sale at the Midtown Mall Market and very reasonably priced, definitely will look for them again!

All the staff here are deeply invested in helping their fellow human beings who are less fortunate, and although they are religious, it's not in-your-face or pushed on you. The main dining room has been closed to non-clients since COVID began, and they are a Shelter for women. Although the Culinary program is open to all. You can sign up for a shower the day before. You are offered sweat pants and sweat shirt to wear while the clothes you showed up in are machine washed and dried while you wait to take your shower (the water is hot and has good pressure) and returned to you before you leave. Coffee & pastries are offered from 9 am until 11:50 am, and they also provide clothing (Men's and Women's Jackets, gloves, underwear, pants, shirts and socks as available), Vitamins, bathing supplies as well as feminine hygiene needs. The Shower house opens between 8:45 & 9 a.m. Lunch is served in the alleyway in back from noon to 1:30 which consists of a cup of freshly made soup, a bag with bread to go with your soup, a sandwich something to drink, a small dessert at the least. You can ask for more cups of soup until they run out & seconds bags are served at 1:20.
