They helped my family grow financially, I was able to save over 3 months worth of rent to put down in advance for our new home and purchase a new to me car. I was encouraged to go after and obtain a job I didn't feel qualified for, sadly after a year I ultimately was unable to handle the pressure from being newly postpartum, my newborn baby being hospitalized with rsv and raising a 2 year old alone, I ended up leaving that job but have since found another in the same field. The program held space for me to process, grieve, and heal during one of the hardest times in my life and I will always be thankful for that.

I was referred by reno police victim advocate since very first day they have been my second family Silvia, Maryalice Carla and all the staff members are super supportive to me and my kids I got approved for transitioning housing program and I learned lots of things from them Financial assistance coach Mary Alice is amazing. She teach me healthy financial habits , how to set up the boundaries. Lots of healthy habits I learned from her when I went to the Dvrc, I had only my job and the car, but when we leaving they make sure I have everything what we need and Mary Alice always there I think I Felt confident about myself because they help me to flip a new page in my life with the confident and financial stability Not only that but also the life helping skill like such as how to handle your money,Gardening, Healthy eating habits , Self defense skills, How to meditate most importantly it’s OK to let it go. It’s OK to do some mistake but learn from the mistake these all kind of things I learn from Mary Alice, When When it’s time to me Leave the program they make sure us not end up in the streets. They gave me a lot of resources about housing and they help me with Home buyers Program, They they help me with moving finding furniture to my new place most importantly at this moment to they were like checking on me and asking how you’re doing? They still helping me whenever I need to talk to them whenever I need some help Dvrc doors always open for me and my kids They are still here every single moment of my life and give me advice and support to me and my kids me and my kids really appreciate the love and support they given to us

Caw is not like it used to I don't feel as safe there as I use to.I have made to feel like I am not welcome there anymore. The last time I went I had just got out of the hospital and I had gotten put on oxygen.Me and a friend went to get some clothes and stuff there. We signed up for shopping, hygiene and food. When we got done shopping clothes.we were going to get some food I just got out of the hospital so food would really help me, Instead we were told it was for people who really need it, most people would not take the food if they didn't need it.so we asked about hygiene bag they had not had them for 4, 5 months we got one and the Lady gave us a letter saying the shopping was closing basically I felt like she was telling us not to t come back. And now they have men going in there.Im not being selfish but when I went in to the shelter I had been badly beaten by a man and they really made a feel safe It don't feel safe anymore and I don't feel welcomed there.its Really sad because that was the one place as a woman that I had the support I needed to o survive.I just sad to see it be taken away
