DOVES Program (Area Agency on Aging)

This has NOT been helpful to me. It’s been a waste of time. Funding must be too low because either you must leave a message that isn’t responded to until (average) 3 weeks later. Then of course the response comes when you are unable to answer so you end up playing phone tag. Most of the answers are ridiculous. For example if I need help organizing my papers I have to sort through them all to find the evidence that qualifies me for that help. Well if I were able to do that I wouldn’t be asking for help would I. The way this place functions seems useless for those who are sick and frail. Well that’s just a mirror for the quality of our healthcare that I pay too much for.

This agency participated in the reason I am here today, living in my home, now working. I'm a disabled senior and they help me with food boxes, and other critical needs. I can't say enough about them. They are angels to me. Thank you Area Agency! Call them when you need them, and they are there!

The agency itself is an important part of our community and provides much needed services to seniors. However, the long time director is incredibly unpleasant, rude and disrespectful, especially to staff. As a non-profit, her salary and spending are exorbitant. And everything has to be purple because it's her favorite color. Even the pen she uses to sign documents. It's comical.
