Honest Review
Erie, PA
I’m writing to share my experience with victim advocacy in the court case, specifically with my assigned advocate, Courtney. Over the course of nearly two years, communication was very inconsistent. There were long stretches where I didn’t hear anything back, and I often had to check PAeDocket myself to stay updated with current information. At times, the District Attorney’s office actually reached out to me directly with information, rather than those updates coming through victim advocacy at all. I was given a few explanations along the way, like phone issues or system changes, and I was told things like “I haven’t forgotten about you.” But in reality, follow-up still didn’t happen consistently. When I traveled to Erie, there were also coordination issues, including delayed or missed contact, which added stress to an already difficult situation. What stood out the most to me was that I still have never received a direct call about the sentencing outcome. I ended up learning that through the mail and PAeDocket. I’m sharing this in the hope that it leads to better communication and follow-through for others going through something similar, because I was left in the dark 98% of the way. Thank you for your time.
