What such a beautiful day thanks to Community Crisis Center. I really need help getting back and forth to work. So I decided to reach out to the center and they were there to help. No judgment just opening arms to help anyway they could. Thank you Community Crisis Center 😍🥰🤩

Community Crisis Center is more than a food distribution center. It provides shelter for women and children who need refuge from domestic violence, assault and homelessness. Counseling services provided.

I did not last a month at this shelter. Only there for 4 weeks could not take no more. Horrible experience 🗣WOULD NOT recommend this shelter to any domestic violence victims.🚫 Some not all of the staff members are rude and inconsiderate of personnal schedules and life threatening situations. Residents are racist. They allow anyone to shelter here regardless of background and history. Suppose to be a domestic violence shelter but they have individuals who are just homeless or on parole looking for a kicking it spot to live here. Multiple drug users and mentally ill residents living here. Two of the girls were having intimate relationships sneaking in each other rooms at night with one another while a child was in the room with them and one is currently pregnant. Alot of stealing goes on at this facility in addition to the women are very nasty. They barely shower donot clean up after themselves, the bathrooms and their hygiene is disgusting.🤢😢 This place should be used as a last resort And this is definitely not a place for responsible, hardworking and independent individuals. Noone works and the few that do like myself, don't last long because this place is just out of order. Drug users and mentally ill residents just running wild. 😢 Far from safe a deadly shooting occurred just two weeks ago directly across the street from the facility in the adjacent parking lot. Crack heads, meth users, dope feins you name it visit this location for bus passes and anything else you name it while hanging out in the parking lot. The residents that don't work get high and enter the location discombobulated. This area is not safe at all. Also do not use this location if you are not from the Elgin area they have limited opportunities as far as housing for outsiders. Any benefits and or funding retrieved while I resided here should be taken away immediately.
