They helped me with my electric and with other resources and they were so sweet and patient. They even got me enrolled in a program with APS that APS didn't tell me existed when you are injured and can't work due to broken feet. Im VERY grateful for the ladies here. They even gave me resources to help with my other bills that I didn't know existed. So if you have never received assistance and are in crisis and need help with utilities you have to go in on Tuesday morning 8 am-11am on Tonto in Phoenix they are inside the park and recreation center because the 10th st location site 125 is closed. The new location is across from a new leaf. Bring your shut off notice, identification for everyone on your energy bill, if you have been sick a doctor's note that you can't work or a text showing you have been going to your appointments and future appts, your acchs letter and or TANF/snap approval letter, and a statement from everyone 18 and older that has no income stating they have no income the last 30 days that they have to sign and date and they can help you right away. I wish you luck. Thank you for everything and for keeping our power on. Thank you so so much. I will finally get some sleep tonight after many restless , stressful night's.

I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this business is extremely biased and possibly racist. I am a black American, single mom who is battling a rare illness that has led to complete blindness in one eye and partial blindness in the other. I had fallen behind on my electric bill. The social worker at my doctors office suggested that I attend the APS bill assistance event that was held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at the Van Buren location. Upon my arrival, the workers were extremely deliberate about making me feel different because English is my native language, and I don't speak Spanish. To qualify for the program, the families in need were required to provide proof of hardship. Because my family is under the poverty line, paying more than 70% of my gross income in rent as well as trying to afford food are both considered "hardships." I provided ALL required documents but was still denied. The worker claimed that I needed receipts for extra purchases like a "tire replacement purchase." I told her that I didn't think that could be considered a hardship because there are alternatives like public transportation or walking. She became extremely hostile, argumentative, and threatening. I then became afraid for my safety. I had to grab my walker to find my way out of there while the workers yelled things behind me like, "Leave, call the police and get out of here!" I was so embarrassed! I hope and pray that I NEVER have go to them for help again and I suggest that if you're any other ethnicity other than what they are there, you take someone with you and record the encounter! The hording of government funds specifically for your ethnic group is racist and is NOT the future of our great country! These people need a lesson in ethics!

I called and left message as recommended by the DES person I spoke to. 2weeks had gone by, no return call. So I went down to their location ( used the restroom) while waiting in the blazing AZ sun until the lady came out. I advised I was there to get help with applying for ERA. She immediately said o we don’t help with that and turned to walk away. I advised her the paper hanging from the gate that was between her and I stated that they do help with that. She then told me that they don’t help because there’s no funding left and walked away.
