While you’re able to shower eat and sleep, there’s ample deficiencies in their operations management such as no cost free laundry services without asking for help. It smells of wet zoo animals in the dorms. A person should never need to ask for help. It should be apparent in that they’re homeless. Laundry Services should be part of the sanitation protocol. Common sense dictates that much. It boosts morale in a human being when he has clean clothes and is able to earn a living. I shouldn’t have to engage in secular politics to get clothes washed.

All of Gods children are welcome here. Central Union Mission is a fair place. Rules are required to accommodate the needs of all guests. Meals are provided at set times three times per day. To go lunch is available for those who need it but are not staying at the shelter. Staff are friendly and supportive. Multiple programs are available for those seeking improvement in their lives. Beds are available on a first come first serve basis. If you respect the rules and staff you will have no issues here. Multiple day rooms available to relax depending on your mood. Chapel service advised to uplift your spirit. Treat your neighbor with respect and life will be fine. Don’t hesitate to talk to the front desk if you are in need of a place to stay. Short and long term accommodations available. I would recommend to anyone in need. Thank God for this place. Be proactive in fixing your life. This is the place to make those positive changes!

ok so i spent a few days here. first i will say that it is a clean place and you get fed...but thats all the good i will say about it. i was not the correct color nor of the same mindset as the people who stay here or of those who work here. i was told we could not wear our hat inside...but yet others who were not white were allowed to wear thier hats without any problem. i attempted to get clothes many times...to no avail..always an excuse why no one could help me...the people who work the desk and have lived here for 3 years looked as if the needed to have a work out center as well. you could tell they lived well off this mission. i will never return and if i was you and i was not of a certain color i would not go here. i believe i may have to return and open a mission for caucassion people here.

I have no problem helping this mission. Because I no longer live in DC I am still able to help by donating to the Thanksgiving and Christmas funds. These holidays can be very lonely for those in need. I understand because I was also homeless at one time.

Thank you guys for the good job you are doing by serving meals to the homeless. Keep up the good work. I helped to serve food here once and would do it again. If you are looking for some charity work to do while in Washington DC around Union Station then consider this place. You will be blessed.
