Centerstone of Florida

I was misdiagnosed at first but that was hell, refused meds as it felt wrong. Got the correct diagnosis with a private Psych with Centerstone after Jail had me set up. The Hospital is GREAT for getting out of the house if you’re a people person like me, at the end of the day you may want a private psych as it’s easy to get lost. Use the Hospital for stays and peace and use a private Psych for Meds.

Centerstone has been an amazing part of helping me rebuild my life after 23yrs of meth addiction. I did a 5 day detox successfully (my first and hopefully the last time I do that) and during that time I was introduced to the FITT team who helps parents with many different angles of support while I worked on myself while trying to to navigate through a dependency case to be reunited with my children. I was first introduced to my peer support Colleen Abercrombie who did not let me go through this alone and I maintain a daily contact with Colleen still. Todd Snavely a case manager communicated with my promptly all the time and was ready and happy to assist me however he could. Cheyenne was helpful as well and my therapist Teresa was amazing as well. Today I’m just over 18months clean and reunified with my children. It’s been an indescribable experience of how amazing centerstone and its staff supported me and assisted me. Matt in the detox center was great too as he immediately talked to me and did the intake with me and made me comfortable as I was in the most uncomfortable situation I’ve been in so far in my life and that was because I voluntarily on my own went into detox and he was very helpful and got me to stay!

My experience with Centerstone has been very positive, specially FITT Manatee. My Therapist, Annya Hernandez has helped me acquire indispensable skills to achieve stability for myself and my children, and coping skills to maintain a healthy mental and emotional state of well-being. The Peer support recovery specialist, Coleen is always available to help me with any issues when it comes to recovery and also is there for me during highs and lows. The case manager, Todd, is always on top of things, making sure Im aware of deadlines and resources in the community. All together this team is a heaven sent; I know I will be successful long term as a result of their dedicated and kind approach to helping me build my life back up and establish a new healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook. I am eternally grateful!
