Center for Domestic Peace is on the front lines of providing much-needed support and education to those who have experienced domestic violence/intimate partner abuse/dating abuse. They offer an array of youth programs that aid in prevention work addressing all forms of abuse ranging from physical, economic, emotional, verbal, spiritual, stalking, and strangulation. I had a lengthy conversation with Brett… I was very impressed. I would leave a 5 star review but I have not actually enrolled but plan to. I had come to have this conversation after reading Lundy Bancroft’s Why Does He Do That?… in which LB informs readers on what to look for in an Abuser’s Program. It helped me navigate my conversation with Brett and gave me strong inclination that they were possibly helping people in ways others have not.
I wanted to share that my conversation yielded so much hope; I felt heard and I felt that the programs offered were definitely in-line with new studies and information changing rapidly. I felt there was enough consideration for many intersectional situations/diagnosis/outcomes etc. Brett was informed, considerate, and most of all empathetic.
I am excited to tell my partner about this program; we have been looking for such a program ourselves for a while and this is the best our area provides.
I will definitely be recommending them to anyone who I meet in these situations of abuse and domestic violence.
