About This Service
This organization, Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS), provides free legal assistance and representation on civil (non-criminal) matters to residents in the city of Boston and surrounding cities and towns. Families and individuals living in poverty, elders, and people with disabilities look to GBLS for help to secure the most basic necessities of life. They advocate for the rights and needs of immigrant communities, work on tenant rights, and provide legal aid to combat housing displacement. GBLS also represents individuals in cases involving taxpayer information sharing, and advocates for expanded tax credits for low-income immigrant families. They work on cases related to racial disparities in housing and immigration enforcement, helping individuals in need navigate legal challenges and protect their rights.
