Can’t recommend the birth center enough. My wife and I felt seen, heard, and protected throughout the course of our pregnancy, labor, and delivery! We love the ABC and the amazing midwives who work there. 5 Stars without a doubt.

What an absolutely amazing experience. The Atlanta Birth Center provided me with top notch care throughout my pregnancy and delivery. I'm a first time mom and Atlanta transplant, so I have a small support network. I was nervous to have an out of hospital birth, but the education and support provided by the midwives at ABC is remarkable. I had an empowered birth experience and am grateful for it. The only reason that I'm giving ABC 4 stars is because of continued usage of "they/them" or "birthing person" language during appointments and constantly referring to my husband as my "partner," an unintimate term that I get is aimed at inclusivity, but I referred to the guy multiple times as my husband, so it felt dismissive. In one instance, a midwife checking my cervix referred to it as "they" which was over the top and cringey and made me really uncomfortable. I hate the notion of anthropomorphizing a body part via pronouns. Overall, wonderful, caring group that I am happy to have chosen for all of my care.

I am late posting my feedback for ABC seeing as how I had my son 4 years ago now. But it’s better late than never to share a story. My experience was a little traumatic for me. I enjoyed my experience starting off. Truly. It was a boutique, personalized and pleasant feel each time. The morning I went into labor i advised the team. I stayed home and labored up until I was about 8cm dilated. We (my doula and hunny) called the center before we left ent over. Once we arrived, I was led to the triage room where a newer midwife was on duty this night. She seemed anxious. After that I tuned everything out so I could relax and prepare to bring my son into the world while I had tapes on my stomach. Which by the way took a while to get together because there was no paper in the machine, nothing was prepared for me at all. I received reports from my doula at the time who also observed the midwife’s behavior and lack of preparedness. The next thing I know, I’m being told because my blood pressure is high (in labor) they want to send me to AMC. We all constantly reassured her I just needed to get into the water. At this point, i felt completely let down. It seemed no real effort was made to provide me the experience I had been coming for, relying on, and discussing. Before I knew it I was being placed on a freaking stretcher and taken to Atlanta medical Center. A Hospital experience gave me immediate anxiety so better believe I was stressed from that point on. Once I was almost ready to deliver I had 2 midwives with me and my Doula. After that.. I don’t recall much more from them. I went back for postpartum mommy group visits a couple times and that was it. Never felt the same. It’s a great concept, and ideal place for first time moms especially who don’t want to birth in a hospital. I was just highly disappointed. I’ve spoken with several people since who’ve also had similar stories of being disappointed or doulas who have tried to advise midwives to give moms a chance first and get them out of triage. This is wise and good advise. I mean, triage is in a small unpleasant room. Lol Anyway, I’ve also heard good things still too. So decide for yourselves. I wish everyone the best of luck. I am now pregnant with my daughter and opting d for a home birth this go around. So excited.
