I was trying to get help here with my rent and when I applied I received a email saying that I qualified. Spoke to Lisa and she told me that I need to go to a finance class and also that my reason for needing help with rent is a crisis. Spoke to Traniece Hall after receiving a denial email. She told me that my reason for needing help wasn't good enough even though Lisa told me the reason is good enough. Traniece tells me that what if next month I need help also. Like really then thats on me but I won't need help next month. I have a job but after holidays extremely slow plus had to buy 2 new tires for my car and snow and ice my job was shut down. I have called and left a couple msgs for supervisor to call me back and nothing. Don't I deserve help? Now I'm gonna lose my apt because people want to be racist!

Update: Wow.. I am shocked at their response.. no apology or accountability on their part. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. My full written story below is 100% FACTUAL. That is EXACTLY what happened, word for word. I provided ALL required documents, my apartment management filled out the required forms for payment processing, and every time I called for an update.. they reassured my December assistance would be sent any moment and that I was fully approved, they said it was taking longer because they were “short staffed”. Then I received an email nearly 2 weeks into December (I applied for help in November- for December rent).. the email said the final person in charge of sending payment would NOT allow the funds to be sent, because my residence was slightly out of their “county line”. Even though this was already addressed prior. This led to an eviction notice and immediate displacement from my home, because I was counting on their approved assistance to come, after being PROMISED that I was approved, and I did everything they requested! I am still displaced and seeking a new home now, yet instead of an apology or any COMPASSION.. you can see their response which really shows their true colors and lack of integrity. As a previous mental health professional, I’d never treat people with such cold disregard as they have. (I have proof of everything I stated) Where do I begin? BEWARE. It’s exactly as other comments have stated. They promise aide and say you’ve been approved.. only to leave you with an eviction. The first woman called and was extremely rude, she told me I cannot get help from them because I’m slightly over the county line. Then another woman called and was very kind, she said I can indeed be helped and that this was NOT an issue, then she set up an appointment for the next day. I came early, with ALL of my required documents. As I walked in, there was one other woman sitting in the waiting room. Elderly woman. She told me her appointment was at the same time as mine and the staff just got into a MAJOR argument in front of her, they fought like she’d never seen. She said they fought about her. Then she left and I sat for 2 hours! I was the ONLY one there. First I was told they were setting up a Christmas tree. Then at one point a lady told me the truth.. that staff went on strike after the fight. Eventually I was assisted. I was told I was 99% approved to receive aide. I just needed my landlord to fill out a form from them, for the funds account. (I spent the entire day before Thanksgiving handling this. I finally got it done but missed a family gathering) I kept emailing and calling and they assured me I’d be getting the funds any day, they were just “short staffed”. I applied before December. Then halfway through December they wrote me an email rather than sending help that was promised.. they said the final person wouldn’t approve it because part of my apartment community was over their county line. I got an eviction notice that same week and have been displaced ever since.

The african woman in the front is rude, mean and heartless. This is a community place that deals with sensitive matters and she will try to argue with you. I had a question... A question and she was so mean. I am not sure who I have to reach out to for her to be replaced bc this is damaging to those who are going through already things. There are other comments complaining about her...
