About This Service

AppalReD offers free civil legal help to eligible low-income people in 37 counties of the Appalachian Mountains and rolling hills of eastern and south-central Kentucky, a region home to more than 220,000 people living in poverty. AppalReD focuses on legal problems that affect our clients’ basic needs for food, shelter, income, personal safety from all forms of abuse, and safety and stability for children and the elderly.

They won't help with civil matter advice. We have a neighbor that is endangering our daughter and we can't even take her out of the apartment without fear of him taking pictures and video recordings of her. He's been recording other people's kids too trying to blame them for things they haven't done and yet Appal Red is supposed to help but refuses to do so.

Can't express how much this place has helped. They help people in their darkest times. I really don't know what I would do with out these kind people. They have made all that I am going through easier.
