Our family grew through the wonderful care and support of the Adoption STAR team. We deeply value the education we received as a part of the pre-adoption process, and we have continued to benefit from the post adoption support we have received. I was deeply moved by the dedication of our advocate and our son's first mom's advocate especially during the emotional days of meeting in the hospital and becoming our son's parents. Our relationship with our son's first family is strong today because we had the information and guidance to develop an inclusive open adoption. The staff have been responsive and supportive all along the way, and we have done our part throughout by being patient and open to learning.

This agency operates on a entirely different model than does any with which I have dealt in my career since the early 1990s. Adoption STAR fully, clearly -- and dare I say, lovingly -- incorporates the needs as desires of the children, birth parents, and prospective adoptive parents as fully, respectfully, and carefully as possible. The planning is forward-thinking, the communication is excellent, and the team's dedication and skills overall are remarkable.

We adopted our daughter through adoption STAR. We will be forever grateful to them for their part in this wonderful miracle. We were “through the roof” excited and scared to start the adoption process and the many options out there were overwhelming. We called twelve different agencies and as soon as we spoke with adoption star we felt a distinct feeling that this was the agency we were looking for. Zach was wonderful in calming our fears and helping us through the first steps of the process. We love Zach and will be forever grateful to him. One of the things we enjoyed most about adoption star was the many educational opportunities they offered to us while we were waiting. We thoroughly enjoyed each class we attended. We also felt that they worked with expectant mothers and birth mothers in a compassionate, respectful way. Last but not least, we are so happy that the agency is willing to stay in continued contact with us after the adoption and has social functions and classes for their adoptive families to attend!!
