AWAIC is a wonderful organization. The negative Google reviews don't do this place justice. AWAIC is getting into the grittiest of situations and helping people.

My original review stated that they were awesome and very helpful from 3 years ago. This year I have no idea what happened but if I could give them my - 5 * I would. They shipped me and my son out of state do DV and left us to rot in another state. With many phone calls there without any return phone calls or follow-ups to see how my son and I are doing. We've been in the state for 3 months homeless and hungry without anybody there calling and checking to do a follow up with us like they are supposed to do. Started back when they stopped helping out and making empty promises and left us hanging for 3 months

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hours are flexible and they really make an effort to work with people. No set check in time. Which is nice. They are also very careful about people's privacy and are helpful for resources in the community.

They are so helpful with women in need. They also help men who have been been abused too. Classes, rooms and help to protect you. I care so much for what they do to help others during my most difficult tme in our lives. God bless them. They helped me during my most difficult tme. Thank you, ❤️

This shelter has very great staff who are friendly. They also offer child care for the clients who attend their groups (only for the groups appointed times).
