This is a lovely shelter that they are slowly running into the Ground as they have such strict criteria to meet the shelter's needs you must be one of their friends or someone that they know and MAYBe then they will actually help you and let you sleep there. But probably not. I called this place in desperation and with domestic abuse that just occurred and it supposedly didn't meet the criteria to shelter there but she would not even tell me what that criteria was. She lead me astray while her nicer coworker actually gave me hope that they could house and support me in my time of need... even if it were just for a day. But listen, I don't go where I am NOT wanted and where they don't really want to help, they just want the picturesque painting to look the part. Not be the part and act the part. They are in it to DEpart and go off the grid when I open my own shelter that blows theirs out of the water. Why? Because I am living this nightmare and they could have ended it, but they chose not to. And I care and when they got the opportunity from GOD to show how they can fix the problem. But they chose not to give a shit. They chose to turn their cheek. And I chose NOT to stay there because that is not the type of help that I or anyone else needs. So you choose another shelter too, second chance, my ass.... 🙏🏻 to that. Everyone will be welcomed at mine. I'll be in touch about all the other contacts of "helpful" shelters out there and let you know where to actually call and who will help you. Like SEVEDA.

I was assisting my friend because she needed help in the area and found out that the second chance shelter in Anniston had availability so now when she called the director had an intern answer the phone and it was unprofessional where she was even more emotional because it was no sense of empathy for her situation but when the director jumped on the phone I was actually on the line just being a support system to her the director acted like she didn't need any help when she was clearly saying she was an abusive situation and needed help to find shelter until she figure out what her next step is they kept telling her why don't she go back to her original state that she moved from or why don't she go to the house and authority so they obviously didn't want to offer her any help because maybe she's black but for whatever reason if you don't want to give her any assistance don't act like she's not going through what she's going through cuz they said to her from the directors standpoint they don't feel like she is in need or is she is fleeing a domestic situation they felt like she was okay no you can't tell her that she's not going through what she's going through she is! But for you to make her feel like her situation is not valid or not factual that is dead wrong you need to lose your license and I really need to report this company to the better Business bureau cuz my friend came back to me crying and emotional and that was not fair for her to go through all this emotional breakdown because of one phone call next time get more professional stuff on board okay this is just on called for!
