“Come as strangers, stay as friends, leave as family.” A quote that has long stuck with me since my UC Irvine dorming days and also one of the most intrinsic lessons we learn as kids. Pregnancy resource center started out as a place where I could just get a free pregnancy test. Their big banner on the outside window facing the main street called out to me, “FREE PREGNANCY TESTS”. I figure, why not try here instead of continuing to pay out-of-pocket - my husband and I have been trying for more children since our first baby (born 2019). You can imagine how many pregnancy tests I purchased from the 99 cent store when they were available. I made a walk-in appointment for a free pregnancy test, signed some paperwork as a non-disclosure, non-clinical and confidentiality agreements. They took my driver's license photocopy and a RN, Jessica, helped me determine I was pregnant. I was shocked and excited. All my false alarms were finally no longer here. My body was reset to house another being. They offered a free follow-up non-clinical ultrasound within the following weeks so my son and I could experience the joy of the little creature being formed in my body - determine both gender and hear the fetus's heartbeat. I was handed a folder where they offered other resources in their center…Earn while you learn classes. Fast-forward eight months later and I can summarize my overall experience from this place as being memorable, heart-felt and valuable. From free pregnancy test, to free ultrasound, to free pregnancy and parenting classes, this place truly is for pregnant women needing resources. They also have free classes on Saturdays that range from financial prepping, pregnancy photography, marriage communication… Their “Earn while you learn” classes range from 15-30 minutes offering insightful information and in return for your time and willingness to learn, they apply “baby bucks” towards use in their baby boutique - a small set-up store in the back of the center where you can choose what to “buy”. From diapers, baby wipes, baby and maternity clothes to a diaper bag, baby carrier, a stroller or a crib to a monthly raffle drawing… The people who work and volunteer here are truly what makes this place successful and worth coming on a weekly basis, sometimes, even twice a week, to socialize. Special shout-out to these beautiful people: Paige (front desk), Diane (coordinator); Ramona, Marissa, Jennifer (parenting coaches); more wonderful souls we encountered at this place: Mikaela, Colette, Patti, Lorna, Phil and David - built a relationship with them to the point even my four-year old son gets excited to walk 0.6 miles there to attend the classes with me.

Wow. What an incredible waste of time. Their website has many misleading words that make vulnerable women believe they are safe to get a referral for abortion here, when that is never their intention in the first place. Their FAQ has a question asking: I already know I’m pregnant and want an abortion. What can PRC do for me? They reply with “the ultrasound will show how far along you are to determine what type of abortion you would choose.” as if they have the access to such resources. I drove an hour out to this place just to leave with nothing and having more stress over this pregnancy. They even separated me and my husband and tried to talk to us about how I should feel guilty for my decision. I am religious but I would never try to make someone feel guilty over something as sensitive as abortion. Don’t waste your time with this clinic unless you’re planning to keep your pregnancy. PRC, do better. If you want to convince women out of having abortion be transparent. Don’t beat around the bush and then finally reveal you actually have no resources for pregnant women to have access to abortion. This is a FAKE abortion clinic who wants to waste YOUR time if you’ve already made up your mind about abortion just go to planned parenthood. Edit in response to owner: So it’s my fault for being misled? Got it. Here’s some advice: when someone asks what PRC can do for them if they decided on abortion your answer should be NOTHING, since all that is done is to shame the woman for her decision. Here’s some more advice: it is not your place to make judgements on His behalf. Thou shall not judge thy neighbor.

I'm very grateful for PRC. I see a lot of reviews complaining that this isn't a real doctor... but the nurse was very clear with me on this and clear about recommending I reach out to an O.B.G.Y.N. for continued care. As for the limited ultra-sound, it's the real deal! I was able to see my baby and it's heartbeat. Their goal is to test for pregnancy, confirm age of the baby and viability of the pregnancy. After that, they recommend you reach out to a physician for what comes after! I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here. Their staff is compassionate and went out of their way to make sure I have resources for every step of the way. They also offer all kinds of free courses to prepare you for being a parent, which they reward you in vouchers that you can use to buy baby clothes, swaddles, etc., even a crib. Not to mention FREE maternity clothing. This place is a literal god-send.

This is not a real clinic or medical center. They are a nonprofit with an aim to get women to not have an abortion and they do no adhere to HIPPA compliance. To prove my point look a recent negative review where they responded saying they didn't have a record of the person coming in; that is violation of HIPPA. Anyone can work at these places. There have been news reports of registered sex offenders working at places like these and touching to young women during the "exam" where they use a fetal doppler which anyone can buy. That's not an ultrasound. You could have an ectopic pregnancy or other risks and this place would not be able to tell you. They just advertise a "limited ultrasound" whatever that means. Don't waste your time here. Go to an actual doctor or Planned Parenthood to get real information about your health. An actual physician won't sway your pregnancy decision one way or another. Good luck!

Not a place to go if you’re still on the fence about the pregnancy, felt as if they were trying to convince me to make up my mind in the way they’d like. If you’re sure and happy about the pregnancy go for it, but just go to planned parenthood or your obgyn if you’re like me.
