I have been doing parenting classes with this organization for almost a year now. The staff is amazing and so helpful, I also really appreciate the store that you get points for when completing classes. The online classes and videos have been very helpful for me understanding my baby as he grows. I am a first time father and have benefited greatly from the knowledge up to this point. Thank you Heartbeat of Toledo! I would recommend you to all parents, first time parents or long time parents.

Update: I have received a message from the Associate Director of Heartbeat of Toledo. They have informed me that previous members cannot enter the program at this time because there is a wait-list. They want to maximize the amount of families helped and the best way to do that is by only allowing first time clients on the wait-list. They then apologized for any miscommunication, any inconvenience, or hardship this may have caused. My family waited for 4 months to get help from these people, not knowing there was a wait-list. Then I find out I was never put onto the wait-list and after all this back and forth I finally reached someone with the correct information, just to be informed that I couldn't have been put on the wait-list in the first place. If you are looking for help, I suggest contacting the Pregnancy Center. This program will not help you. They have inexperienced staff maning the phones who give you incorrect or incomplete information. I don't even know who I have been talking to for most of my conversations with them. They also don't read what's written completely and answer questions half heartedly. They seem to only care about maximizing the amount of names to their list of "Helped" families. Helping people is about more than just numbers. First Post: I first used this service when I was pregnant with my first child. The staff was wonderful and understanding, it wasn't difficult to get signed up, the videos were educational and they had great items that really helped our family. Between my child's 6th month and 1 year birthday, I was taken out of the program for inactivity. It was explained in the beginning of the program, that after a set amount of inactivity they will remove you from the program to open up availablity to others. (I was totally fine with this and isn't the reason for the dock in stars.) In early August of 2022 I contacted this group in hopes of rejoining the program. I was told that someone from the program would contact me in a few weeks to get me back into the program. I didn't here back from anyone until January 9th 2023, when I received a random automated message informing me that messages received from this platform are not immediately received and that additional time would be needed for the message to be responded to. (I never sent a message to this "platform" before.) In the message it states for faster responses contact a different number. I contacted the number that the message referred to and asked if I could rejoin the program. I have been waiting since August to here back from their office. That is when I learned that there was a long wait-list and that may be why I haven't heard back from them. (The person I talked to back in August never mentioned a wait-list.) I had to ask the person if they saw my name on the list, and they did not. The representative apologized afterwards, but said they would have to put me on the wait-list to get into the program. I asked how long do people normally wait on the list, can you give me a ballpark estimate and the representative wouldn't give me an answer. I then asked do people normally wait 4 months to be put ONTO the wait-list and the representative didn't even respond until 7 days later after I messaged them back. The representative didn't read my question thoroughly, and answered back saying, "Yes, at this time it isn't uncommon for people to wait this long as the need in our community is very high and all agencies are pretty full. If you'd like you may contact The Pregnancy Center to see if they may have more immediate openings." I understand that there is a Wait-list to get into the program, and I have no problem with waiting my turn. What I will not tolerate is negligence. This organization is supposed to help families in the community during a very stressful and hectic part of life, pregnancy, child birth and taking care of a toddler. This program was very helpful the first time around, unfortunately trying to get in a second time has been nothing but a headache. I will update my review once I speak with a supervisor.

Heartbeat of Toledo is an amazing community resource. They’ve helped me get all the things I need to raise my children, a community of people that care about us, and education to help me be a better parent. I would and have recommended Heartbeat to other families in need. Thank you Heartbeat!!
