About This Health Center
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) strengthens public health systems to meet the needs of America’s mothers, children, and their families. We reach about 59 million pregnant mothers, infants, and children, including children with special health care needs. Our work: - Aims to make sure all moms, babies, children, and youth are physically and mentally healthy - Spurs national guidelines for women's and children's checkups as well as newborn screenings - Trains the public health workforce to meet the specific needs of maternal and child health populations - Responds to the maternal health crisis by providing the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline: 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262)- Call, Text, or Chat Online
