I contacted Clearway Clinic to confirm a viable pregnancy and mentioned that I was experiencing right side pain. Before reporting my pain level as a 7 out of 10, I clearly explained to Amy that the pain is not extreme, I’m not bleeding, and it only occurs when I walk. I was unaware that a 7 is considered severe, and no one at the clinic explained the pain scale to me. Despite this clarification, the clinic refused to see me, stating they had to go with my initial report.
During the call, the nurse also became frustrated with me and asked, “Are you a nurse?” which felt dismissive and condescending. This left me feeling ignored, unsupported, and disrespected. While I understand the need for safety protocols, the lack of empathy, flexibility, and proper communication made the experience unfair. I have experienced similar symptoms in previous pregnancies and am familiar with my own body.
