In Utah, abortion is currently legal up to 18 weeks in Utah. Utah passed a trigger ban that would prohibit most abortions, however a judge has temporarily blocked the ban and it is being challenged in the courts. Mothers must attend mandatory counseling with a 72 hour waiting period before deciding upon an abortion only permitted to be performed by a physician. State Medicaid and private health insurance coverage is not granted except in limited circumstances. Parental consent is required for minors.
