Women's Center of Beaver County

If you go to this place, lie! Say your experience was worse than what it actually was. Because if your score is not high enough at their discretion, they don’t help you. I scored a 17 and I’ve been on a waiting list for any help with housing for three weeks and you have to leave within 6 weeks. Doesn’t matter if you have nowhere to go the give you an exit date. I’m 9 months pregnant with three small children already and I am prepared to go back to my abuser because in three more weeks I will be out on my ass. They gave my friend $75 when she left and she had nothing.

My family stayed here for a time while we were homeless and we had to walk on eggshells the entire time because they were looking for any excuse to throw us out. They helped the other women staying there find housing and jobs but my mom was basically on her own in that regard. They threw us out a few days after thanksgiving because a little girl who was staying with her mother was getting into trouble on Thanksgiving day and because my sister and the girl shared similar names they assumed it was her even though we literally signed out to leave for the day and didn’t come back until it was time to go to bed; they didn’t care and still threw us out with zero remorse and zero advice on place we could go that would take us in. Hopefully someday somebody in this county does the work to make a place where families down on their luck can go stay and get help getting back on their feet.

This Center is a place for all women and children included. The guidance I received and just to have someone to talk to me about a tragic event and I know guidance and help will get me through this awful time. Counseling and Therapy has my mind at ease in knowing that the Woman’s Center in Beaver County are amazing people. Everything is confidential and that’s so helpful as well.
