Rose Peifer rated 1 a month ago I am so sad to have to write this review, as this place used to be such a great practice. I became a patient about 2 years ago because of all the positive things I heard and my experience has been wonderful…..until today. I was informed that not only was my appt for tomorrow cancelled (less than 24 hours before), but also that all but one of the providers was no longer working there. What?! So everyone but one has either been fired or quit? This leaves me with no provider to contact about any of my very important prescriptions for management of my medical issues. When I asked what to do about this and how they would be addressing this issue for existing patients, I was told it would probably be best to just find a new provider. I am very disappointed and shocked at the suddenness. Clearly something bad must be going on if everyone is gone… |
Tomita Ferguson rated 1 2 months ago I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to give birth. First of all, I had numerous issues with this BC regarding communication and overall care. I had to constantly hound the staff to schedule office appointments, make referrals for specialist, and to answers simple questions that were quite frankly ignored 100% of the time. The lack of care and consideration for their patients is absurd. I caught covid (didn’t know it was covid- thought I had food poisoning) during my pregnancy and I had to beg and plead with several midwives to listen to me and provide me with some help.
I had some complications with fibroids and continuous bleeding…they dragged their feet and dismissed my concerns on several different occasions. I basically had to harass WOMEN to point me in the right direction for help.
They were not helpful or caring at all. The exact type of treatment I was trying to avoid by giving birth in the hospital is what I experienced at this birthing center. Birthing centers aren’t new to me. I gave birth to my son at Baby & Co and had an amazing experience that I wanted for my daughter. Fortunately, I had to give birth at UNC due to my daughter being growth restricted. I even had to hound the staff to give me information about my induction date. The lack of care and communication is astounding with WBWC. At least the nurses at UNC were exponentially more attentive than the midwives at WBWC.
I wouldn’t recommend this place for any pregnant women and I’m a big advocate for natural birth and birthing centers. They are beneficial for women, especially women of color.
This places gets a big middle finger from me. |
Tiffany Barnes rated 5 3 months ago I feel inclined to write a review out of stumbling upon reading so many terrible ones. I have nothing but kind words to say about this birth center and how I’ve been treating during my pregnancy there in 2021 as well as part of my current pregnancy in 2022. I’ve always felt supported, listened to and genuinely cared about here since day one. This has always been a comfortable environment for me and I had such a pleasurable birth experience here last year that I never would of had in a hospital setting. I’ve always felt safe here and it is unfortunate the staff turnover this time around but that doesn’t change the fact that speaking from my own experience I was given amazing care at this center and I wish this same level of care upon any woman. This should be the standard of care at any hospital, unfortunately it’s not so I wish all the best that this birth center gets back in business stronger than ever because women truly deserve a place like this. The only issue I’ve ever had here is the billing department, which I believe is a third party and that’s where the miscommunication lies, billing department is only looking at the bill you see and isn’t able to elaborate on it to tell if you actually owe anything. Other than that my experience here was wonderful. |
Chelsea Carlson rated 1 4 months ago Was recommended to me by my gynecologist. They never responded to online contact forms, I had to call their tour coordinator, who set me up with a virtual tour 2 weeks from the day I had reached her. Waited 2 weeks. Then, the day before, they call and cancel the tour because they are too understaffed to take new patients. Meanwhile, I haven't received any prenatal care because it took 2 weeks to finally make contact and then waited 2 weeks for a required tour that they then canceled with no recommendations for alternative providers. I respect that they are short staffed and cannot take patients, but the lack of compassion or care for someone needing prenatal care urgently (because YOU MADE ME WAIT) was pretty galling. |
Mary Mothers rated 2 6 months ago I really wanted to love this place. I should have went with my gut when reading all the negative reviews. My experience at my annual apt was okay. I did blood work at my apt and waited over 2 weeks for someone to give me the results. I found out, after calling a million times, that who I saw left and somehow my results got lost in the mix. It was so frustrating. Then when I did finally talk to someone they said they’d call me in a week-2weeks about a follow up resource… that was over a month ago. I was looking at eventually having a baby here.. I won’t be looking here anymore. If they can’t get basic care right than I can’t imagine how they are when having a baby. I think their mission is amazing but I don’t think they are organized enough to execute care properly, which is so disappointing. I would recommend elsewhere. |
