I worked here from 2016-2022. In that time I saw several folks, men, women, and trans/non-binary survivors, whose lives were changed for the better. Unfortunately, it's the kind of work that doesn't talk itself up enough, and so many of the reviews here are negative. I will say the place is not perfect, but the people who work there do genuinely care about survivors and trying to make things better for them, and they are limited by what space and circumstances allow. I do believe of the negative reviews listed here, at least two are for the Willow Domestic Violence Center in Rochester, New York. I hope that those who had negative experiences found help somewhere. Domestic violence is a terrible and insidious crime, and a public health problem rather than a family issue.

This place and the women i. Here have saved my days and life of kids too many times. They understand and listen well. They are your friends and always have the right things to say and do. If i ever make it rich one day i will always donate to this business and staff. They are forever in my heart.

Satori Counseling Services has enjoyed a partnership with the Willow Domestic Violence Center since 2017 and they have supported us in a variety of ways to further support the community. The Willow DV Center has a number of different services including groups, housing and therapeutic services to support folks who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Our interactions with their staff have always been positive and they show a passion for supporting the individuals they serve. They have an awesome community education program that serves a number of counties in the area and their work on human trafficking has been helpful in my own education on the subject. If you are involved in a situation that may require options for surviving the complexities of abuse contact them ASAP.

Did not like this place! They believed my husband over me. He tried to play the victim, when he was really the instigator. Almost cost me my job and dinged my record for a bogus DV incident that he didn't get into for. I did. I have volunteered and worked for another shelter in another city. Plus I had stayed at one in another city. Last Time I checked. Men usually don't get special treatment for antagonizing their wives. If these people had done their job and correctly knew about the wheel This would have turned out much different. Poorly ran!! Don't go to the Ottawa location if you're a woman.Have someone drive you to the city Small town DV shelter that caters to a man over a woman. Absolutely Horrible

If I could give a zero I would. Applied to live here with an emotionally and verbally abusive roommate who was causing me to have problems even at work, stalking family in their homes, breaking through schlage locks in my bedroom and making me feel too unsafe to sleep or even relax in my own house. I had to go on anti-anxiety meds I didn't need before. They refused to let me stay after I told them she had not physically touched me. There are many types of abuse, some much worse than physical. Inexcusable failure to protect people.
