Very unprofessional and counselors are not experienced with severe emotional abuse, triangulation, or the cycle of control. As long-term victims of DV, I sought counseling help from the center for myself and my children. I spoke to the counselor regarding the very serious issue of my teen daughter being engaged in an abusive relationship of her own and asked for advice about what I could do to intervene as a parent. After only speaking with me twice, the counselor insinuated that I was to blame for my child's repeated involvement in toxic relationships despite a very complex background and history of victimization by severe psychological abuse. The therapist failed to offer recommendations, a treatment plan, additional counseling, or even a different therapist. The therapist who was supposed to be treating one of the other children just disappeared. Appointments were always cancelled or rescheduled on a weekly basis, and one day she just stopped responding to all attempts to reach out. No answers to phone calls or emails, and no explanation from other staff as to what happened. It was a terrible experience in a time of great need, wasted time, and lost opportunities to help children who had been severely traumatized. If the organization wasn't able to help, they should have been professional enough to say so and refer us elsewhere.

I've been going here for almost 4 years and their services are amazing. All 3 therapists I have been with were so kind and supportive and have really helped me.

Was seeing a therapist there for about 2 years. She was wonderful…all of sudden I never heard from her again. I did not receive any notice from her or ANYONE at the facility as to what was going on, or as to why my therapy had suddenly stopped. Not only was this very damaging to my recovering and healing process, but it was also damaging to my emotional state, to feel as if I had just been dropped or “ghosted” as a client.
