Called the police because we had a break in at a rental property on Markham ave. The individual was in the property. After over 90 minutes the police never showed up amd we left. Absolutely unacceptable ; no service; waste of taxpayers money to be paying for law enforcement that is indifferent to community needs.

I had lost my wallet at the local neighborhood Walmart and was thinking I will not see it again and started the procedure of closing my financial accounts. Later that day I get a knock on the door from the police and they found my wallet and personally delivered it to me. Such a relief that everything was still there besides my cash which is fine. But all my ids and personal items that aren’t replaceable. Thank you Vacaville police for delivering it to me and so promptly. Happy holidays.

The absolute most racist and bigoted organization I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with!!.. I already had the unfortunate task of getting my vehicle released from the tow yard, which involved paying an outrageous release fee to the city and an even bigger and more ridiculous fee to the tow yard. As I go into the police department they first tell me that I must be registered owner of the vehicle. Which I am... which is why obviously when I called the tow yard they automatically knew who I was and that I was the registered owner.. I know they have to do their job but they don't have to be so smug and look like they enjoy messing with people's lives..

I grew up in Vacaville and I would hear a lot of negative stories about VPD. Most, I thought, were exaggerations or misunderstandings. It wasn't until I saw how they patrolled my high-school girlfriend's neighborhood that I understood that they definitely behave differently toward people of color and women.
I've seen drunk white dudes threatening the police at the creek walk without any issue, and young latino kids get hassled walking home from the store.
Also, they don't publicly report their crime statistics like neighboring departments do.
The cost of this department is more than the inflated salaries and pensions, it the lives of the poor and minorities they harrass. All that for opaque results.

By far thee worst city of law enforcement I have ever experienced. They need 5 cars for every traffic infraction, will harass you over dealership plates on a car that clearly was just bought from a dealership, and the list just goes on. They follow cars for being out driving at night just because it’s “late”. Can’t stress it enough if you have a choice don’t live here.
