I stayed in the program for about a month. My experience here was The absolute worst. Bullying, gossip, and intentional antagonization from staff every time they saw me.They would act as if they couldnt hear me when I know they could. They put me with a racist roommate, whom they knew was racist because they addressed it it in one of the classes. She was stealing my belongings from me and using them, taking pictures of my personal items as well as my personal identification. I made staff aware as well as the program manager and caseworker of my concerns before anything took place. I confronted my roommate DIRECTLY TO HER FACE about her behavior respectfully. She was clearly not capable of having a civilized conversation. my interactions with her was minimal during my stay at UGM.She continued stealing my belongings and started spreading lies throughout the shelter about me. The last straw was the stealing of my hygiene items. Confronted her while staff was there witnessing this woman use racial slurs and push me. I did not touch her nor did I use any racial slurs I left out for work. The next morning I was asked to leave even though I did nothing wrong in this situation. Case worker nor program director tried to work with me on the situation (they were very much aware of my roommates behavior )and still chose to kick me out. I was treated wrong here. I will never forget my stay here. How I was treated was less than human I pray no other person goes through what I went through here.

Nice people run the place food is pretty good. The bunks are ok much better than being outside. Keep your stuff safe in the back room and they issue you a towel a bed sun soap and stuff. So no need to take extra things. Church is. Fine . I need to look in their programs but not bad .

A Very Great Place for Life Changes💯The classes are wonderful💯 They get to the root of the problems.. So you don't repeat them.. Nice and clean as well.. The rooms are great.. Y'all will sleep in peace.. It's like living in a College Dorm.. I call this place the College for the Minds/Lifestyle.. I am Truly Blessed to be at UGM💯💯💎 Big Up's to all the stuff that works here..

I had the opportunity to stay at the UGM back in 2006. I gained so much from that stay which lasted about 4 . months. I will never forget the kindness the generosity and the respect that was shown to all the women that were there. These people (mostly volunteers) have truly hearts of gold. If you ever find yourself in need of love, support,kindness beyond measure in a spiritual atmosphere.UNITED GOSPEL MISSION is the place to be.

UGM -TC IS clean and well managed. Check in is 4:30 (3:30 in summer) for overnight visitors. Cost is $6/night but 3 nights and 90+/40- degree weather nights are free. Dinner, breakfast, & a bed is provided on a first come first serve basis. So arrive around 4 (3) to be assured a bed. UGM has a resident program that allows you to live there. Intake for resident applications is M-F at 7a.m. and may take several returns before you are accepted. Residents are assigned an (easy)job to work 15-20 hours each week. For example site cleanup, kitchen chores, warehouse, security & landscaping. That gets you a permanent bed,weekly laundry (done for you),locker,3 meals, clothing & much more. Alternatively, residents with outside jobs can simply pay $180/month for rent. Attending a 20 minute Chapel service is required before each dinner. Staff is respectful & helpful. This program was exactly what I needed to get back on my feet after health problems.
