They helped me to go from homeless to an apartment. You just have to want it and work their program. They do a whole lot for BCS. I'm grateful to them.

Just called for help after being given their card from the police. The lady I spoke to could care less and really was rude. That’s the last thing any one needs ever.

Unless you're in serious danger or trouble. I'd suggest going to family promises or the bridge. They are not helpful, or supportive, and they are extreamly rude. After being threatened to be kicked out 3 different times for misunderstanding, being called a "bad mom" and not good at parenting, being asked "do you need parenting classes?" When they weren't offering any parenting classes just being rude. And on my exit date, crying saying i didnt have anywhere to go and id be on the streets... the front desk lady (Gloria) just lifts her eye brown and turns her hands up and says "well good luck." And walks away letting a pregnant women carry 2 Extreamly heavy bags outside without helping. And the food the provid isn't enough. On rare occasions wed have someyhing more than ham and cheese sandwishes for lunch. We can't have hot dinners. We HAD to make dinner the night before and then just reheat it the next night. And most of the time the shelter monitor's would eat the food that was meant for us. We were told we can't watch t.v. until 5pm, yet they come into our living room and watch t.v. before 5pm. Ive been given more resources in the past 3 hours than i ever got from here just from other shelters actually sitting down and talking to me. And when i brought up it up i was given "well we can't sit with you and go through every single resource." .They call you "lazy" if you sit down and relax for a few hours on a day off. They have room checks for cleanliness and if you have more than 5 peices of trash in your trash can you fail. But if they fail you and you ask why they respond with "i shouldnt have to tell you.". Unless you are hidding from someone. Id recommend going to another shelter. They don't care about you here or your welbeing. I felt so much more at home within 3 hours at the bridge than i did here. Plus the bridge will feed you 3 hardy meals a day. Here will give you a box of cereal and a ham sandwich for lunch every day and a cold left over dinner. On the plus side, you do get your own room and privet area and even with 10+ people the water is always hot..and security is very well and tight. And the kitchen is come and go and self serviced. And they do provide you with the basic shelter needs such as diapers and clothes and toiletries.
