Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence

Worst place ever. Unsafe, unsanitary, dangerous for children, fire code violations, and the list goes on. I posted something publicly on my page telling just a tiny bit of what I experienced and witnessed. If you donate to this organization you may want to know what is going on there. And what is not. I hope that if anyone has this sort of experience there that you think abot vulnerable people especially the kiddos. If you have, please consider contacting the State Senators office. "Besides being a complete road stop. My child and I were being unsafe in the home. We had to face are abusers that followed us there. There were no background checks. It is Ben a blessing to get out of there. The director of the house was no help at all. it is not a turningpoint it is the dead end that basically sends you back to being dependent on the person that sent you there because there is no one else. My daughter face is PTSD since then. With many complaints to the staff members who are left with their hands tied. it went on taking care of no matter how bad it got. The Advocates themselves we're amazing. But with no power there they were also shut down by the director. It saddens me that a place that was once so high up and known as one of the best turningpoint and many single mothers lives turned into a roadblock that caused multiple mother and children to turn away and go back to the streets. Where they should have been teaching Independence. Their lack of resources and people that actually cared in the ranks that can actually make a difference, made a literal trap. Single moms that have no one no car no way to fend for themselves are taught to stay in the house, and just wait and Hope that the government will help them out in time for their departure. where we could be learning structure team building relying on each other we actually learned to crawl back to the person that sent us there. It is heartbreaking. But because of my experience and because of my daughter's experience they directed me to exactly where I needed to go. To be a voice for mothers and children and it from abusive families that have no one and no voice that were shut down over and over again I am now going to school on my own, as the person that abused me followed me there lied and got a place to stay scaring us away, making it so we were asked to leave because we feared to stay. They knowingly put us in a situation but ultimately I was lucky enough to find or to be found by someone that gave us a chance at a life. Turningpoint it's a dead end. Unless they change something and quick I don't foresee then staying open. If you have no car you are unable to transport anywhere as they do not have transportation like they say they do. They do not even attempt to tell you about Workforce or any resources in the community other than our neighbor's place. There's a constant lack of milk eggs and bread and as they are not supposed to support us they do promise to hold those Staples to keep us from starving. It was the most painstakingly heartbreaking experience I watch my daughter go through as she would scream being held back saying goodbye two single mothers being turned away because they had no way to get to work to get to daycare and being unable to depend on each other we were taught to fear. I hope that changes now" - post from EARLY 2017 In LATE 2018 my wife and i were fleeing a bad situation with our youngest daughter. To our great surprise... Turning point had made a turn and became EVERYTHING THEY WERE MEANT TO DO AND GAVE US HOPE IN A SITUATION. We love turning point and everything they stand for. We often go there with our kids just to say hi. Their new staff and housing people are AMAZING. I will not withdraw my earlier review... Because it is such a testimate that in darkness.
