Nice place and friendly staff

This is not a safe haven for battered women and children. I stayed here years ago and was mistreated, talked about and bullied by their staff so I chose to return home. Today I found out a friend of mine who really needs help exiting an abusive relationship has received the same treatment and has returned to her abuser. Nobody want to flee an abusive relationship to only deal with the same abuse in a shelter and program that’s supposed to be designed to help them find safety and heal and rebuild their lives. Of course they would return! I would rate them zero if it was an option. I know resources in this area are sparse but I recommend going somewhere else where the people actually care about the people they are appointed to serve. You can’t put just anyone in these roles!

This place has always been there for me and my family. Love the kindness that the staff distributes.

I was ghosted by the counselor, no explanation given. I could have certainly used help in getting my restraining order. This "no explanation" part is unreal. I could not believe it. Inexcusable. Unforgivable. Do NOT recommend.

I asked for help to have a safe and warm place to go during the cold. They sent me to a shelter. Most people were good but I was a victim of blatant racism there. The rules clearly stated no alcohol but one woman is drunk almost every day. They even found a bottle of booze in her room. She started criticizing me and making racial slurs against me for being Native American. She followed me into the sleeping area and started calling me a loser a few times. She was harassing me right in front of the staff and all they cared about was her talking over them. They do nothing about her but give her what she wants. White drunk woman are welcome but natives are not. So In the cold I have no place to go but she has a safe place to get drunk.
