Micayla Allbright rated 5 a month ago Went into the ER on 07/04/22 and although my visit in triage was a bit rough, Dr. Dixon and his staff were OUTSTANDING. They got me diagnosed and taken care of rather quickly in my opinion. I was there from intake to discharge for 11 hours and in that time, I’d say they got a lot done. Dr. Dixon walked me through everything and was 100% transparent. My nurses, Willow and another sweet girl who I seem to forget her name but she has a little dinosaur tattoo behind her ear, they were GREAT! Always quick to take my IV apart so i could go somewhere, answering me questions and making sure I was comfortable. There was another doctor who came in to do my spinal tap and I have forgotten her name, probably from the fear of the spinal tap, but she was also amazing! Thank you so much Harris Downtown. |
Hey It's Nikki rated 1 3 months ago I gave birth on May 31, 2020. The nurse and staff were wonderful my entire stay. The only issue I had was with RN Rayna. She was nice as well, but when it came to giving me an IV for my iron infusion, she blew my vein. I advised her that the IV was causing pain. She stuck me twice. When my midwife from the Acclaim Midwifes came into the room, we informed her of what happened and Rayna stated that she didn't know I was in pain AFTER I'd already informed her multiple times that the IV was burning and wasn't going in properly. I have never had anyone blow my vein as they are very prominent and work well. Anyway, the nurse-midwife from Acclaim put the IV in my other arm with ease, PER USUAL, and everything was fine after that.
Aside from that, the rooms were dirty. My labor & delivery room was so uncomfortable. The bathroom and room floors needed a good mopping and the room didn't even smell disinfected, although a neighboring rooms "clean" could be smelled from the hallway.
The post natal room where they take the mom & baby after birth was incredibly small. It was so uncomfortable, and it was DUSTY and dirty. The floors looked dirty, there was dust on several areas. The restroom was dirty, also. In need of a makeover and deep cleaning. I expected a cleaner room during the COVID pandemic. Another room smelled disinfected and clean. Mine smelled dusty. I gave birth at Baylor All Saints (Fort Worth) back in 2010, and the rooms were immaculate. |
Doris Woolery rated 5 3 months ago I went to the ER May 9, 2022 with severe diverticulitis and was admitted into the hospital. From the moment I entered the ER until I went home May 11, I received excellent care from staff, nurses and doctors. All nurses and doctors were very prompt, caring and took the time to listen to all my questions and concerns. If I asked for anything, I received immediate service. I had not been admitted into my room very long when I received a visit from the charge nurse making sure I was being taken care of and all my needs were being addressed. I was very impressed with the quality of care I received while in the Harris Methodist Downtown Ft. Worth Hospital. |
S Brenner rated 4 4 months ago I'm a "frequent flyer" here; I have health issues. The ER staff is great. The inpatient staff is very good too! It's been hard on all hospitals since COVID hit. Hints for people who aren't used to hospitals: hospitals aren't a very good place for rest. You're one of many patients and they have to treat the most serious cases first. Being nice gets you niceness in return. If you really feel like you're not getting good help, find the patient advocate. Harris downtown is a very good hospital. I'm grateful for it. |
PamAndJimmy Willard rated 1 8 months ago The er is HORRIBLE! My doctor sent me over there and I warned them how bad my veins are and that I didn’t want to be a pin cushion but they went ahead and blew 3 veins. I have Lupus and asked multiple times not to be put in a huge waiting room and risk being exposed to Covid. The nurses are extremely RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. The nurse I dealt with was Lauren T RN. In CT they were very rude. The charge nurse was just as bad. I have threatened to leave because of the way I was treat but was pretty much told I can’t. They just flat don’t care about their patients. This is a horrible place to be when you are in pain. If I could give them a zero I would! They told me originally they would put me at the top of the list for a room. Obviously they lied as I’m still in the waiting room over 3 hours later. They really have no compassion or care for their patients.
Edit update: I just spoke to Christina in Patient Advocacy. She didn’t get anything I told her. This is so frustrating that there is no understanding of the lack of care I received in the ER! |
