The bears were in their little cave napping. We did see this scruffy raccoon down by the bridge and he entertained the kids for a while crawling around the area. Great little stop.

I definitely had mixed feelings while visiting the bears here on campus. We visited early on a cool day and was pleasantly surprised to see both bears active and eating. We were able to explore the whole exhibit and the bears followed us around while we walked around each part of the enclosure. I did notice one of the bears was exhibiting zoochosis and constantly pacing back and forth the entire time. I will admit, that was hard to see considering these are captive animals only meant to be kept because they are a mascot of the school but putting those feelings aside I was happy to see that the entire enclosure is extremely well maintained.

This was our first stop on a Saturday outing trying to save money! I have a 10-year-old son and he absolutely loved the bears. They had just been fed their breakfast and the zoo keepers put peanut butter on the windows so the Bears would lick the peanut butter and get really, really close so you could see them! This made for lots of questions from an inquisitive child! We looked at the little creek that’s below and it was awesome. We had a good time and the best part is it’s FREEE!
