San Francisco SafeHouse empowers and supports Womxn experiencing housing instability and sexual exploitation or trafficking through survivor-centered spaces, services, advocacy, and community education. The organization provides housing, support services, and advocacy to approximately 141 survivors and their children annually, serving over 1,000 women and their families since 1998. SafeHouse focuses on providing safe, permanent housing and emphasizes the Housing First model to support survivors as they work towards stability and healing, aiming to break the cycle of intergenerational homelessness and incarceration. The organization also offers a Transitional House, Hope Center drop-in space, and permanent supportive housing, along with individualized case management, therapy, and various support programs. SafeHouse's team includes experienced professionals in social work, mental health, and development to provide comprehensive care and support to their clients.
