They used to feed food and showers and they haven’t done it for years since complaining of homelessness in Chinatown became prevalent and I can’t tell you how many times I have shown up to their hubs to find no one there and no food so I’ve gone days without eating. This is the sad fact of life. I should’ve killed myself long ago.

What They Do: Meal Services: One of the primary activities of River of Life Mission is providing meals to those in need. These often come in the form of community dinners, breakfasts, or food distribution events. Vocational Training and Rehabilitation: Besides immediate relief in the form of meals, they often aim to provide long-term solutions like vocational training to help people acquire skills that could lead to stable employment. Other Support Services: Depending on resources and partnerships, River of Life Mission may offer additional services like clothing distribution, basic health services, and counseling. How to Get Involved: Volunteering: Many community members contribute their time to help prepare and serve meals, among other tasks. Donations: Financial donations and contributions in the form of food, clothing, or other essentials are often welcome. Awareness: Spreading the word about the mission and its services can help both in attracting volunteers and in reaching those who may benefit from their services. Impact: Organizations like the River of Life Mission play a crucial role in providing immediate relief and longer-term solutions to homelessness and food insecurity. They often work in collaboration with other community organizations, government bodies, and volunteers to multiply their impact. Overall: River of Life Mission is an organization committed to alleviating homelessness and hunger in its community. While their resources may be limited, their impact is often significant due to the dedication of their staff and volunteers. If you are interested in contributing or know someone who could benefit from their services, it's a good idea to contact them directly for the most current information.
