I agree with Miquel on all. Also Trauma informed doesn’t mean trauma competence or that they actually care. The paid employees can be quite toxic and they don’t belong around human beings. One has to wish to treat people nontoxic way to prevent trauma. Intake process leaves room to deny anyone for care based on any reason. It gives a gaping hole of discrimination for any reason at all race, age, disability, sexual identity, religion or any other thing or dislike of a person. It doesn’t take all people like it claims. The agency chooses who it wants to help and for some it is just a job and source of income. The fish rots from the head. Some toxic people pull an income for here. The city of Albuquerque and United Way pay for this place to operate. Need to remove the employees who harm the patients. All calls need to be monitored especially if it a supervisor or anyone of any level. Bad people work here!

Had an absolutely terrible experience here as a transgender autistic person. They are not trained to work with trans people or autistic people. In addition, the therapist I had changed my weekly time without informing me, and not a single person I spoke with prior to doing a *very long* intake process mentioned that they only provide temporary and not long-term therapy. (I would not have bothered had I known that crucial piece of information). My therapist blamed her age on “not knowing what my identity was”—ma’am I know trans people who are older than you, and we have always existed. There is no reason to not be trans-informed in the year 2024–trans people have some of the highest rates of sexual assault, as do autistic people, and the trans resource center provides training to organizations within the city. Shameful. Do better.

I wish there was a Grammy for therapists because my therapist here deserves it. My therapist treats me with compassion, patience, and is extremely resourceful. She goes above and beyond and I’m extremely grateful. Right now, I’m going through one of the hardest parts of my life, and my therapist is helping me get through it. The location also feels secure, is comfortable, and any employees I’ve interacted with have been nice. I have absolutely 0 criticisms.
