My counselor at PHC (Humberto) really gave me the knowledge and confidence to go through the very stressful process of buying my first house. The one day course was also incredibly helpful although it did feel a little bit like drinking from a fire hose because of all of the information needed about the process. The people that they referred for lending and other resources were also fantastic so they are a trusted resource in my book. I feel like I couldn't have done it the way I did without them!

My partner and I had an incredible experience with the Portland Housing Center and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to buy a home, especially first timers. We loved each part, the classes, the counseling and the non-profit lending services. With all seriousness, we are eternally grateful for everything they have done for us. 100% recommend the Portland Housing Center for first time home buyers. When I decided to start saving for a home 4 years ago a friend pointed me to this place. Between the classes, budgeting help, and the IDA program I would not have known what to do to build my credit, get a real idea of what I could cut out of my spending habits and the great incentive to keep saving in order to utilized the match savings program. I just now bought a home and the match savings paid a good chunk of my closing costs. Thank you PHC!
