They treat you well. Have to be able to accept their rules though. Would recommend if you need a hot meal and a warm place to be for a few nights.

Went to volunteer for the first time at this location. I loved what the staff and other volunteers were doing for the gentlemen. I will be praying for all of them. I will be back to help after my surgery is done.

Got to serve at this Rescue Mission with some brothers from my church, PCC(Pennisula Community Chapel) and had a fantastic time speaking with the men there while praying for them too.
The coordinator did a great job in making sure everyone was fed that night and even had us make a few plates for guys that got off work late.
Praying for all the guys here and the people running the house/church.
Jesus said, I did not come for the healthy, but for the sick and wounded.

I was in a bad spot and not even from Virginia and I ended up lucking out and getting a bed here for a few weeks while covid was going on. The men's barracks area are actually very clean and the showers were always spotless and cleaned every day. They did our laundry a few times a week and the food was always wonderful from the sponsors and local groups coming in. I had a job at a staffing agency the very next day and I simply just walked or rod the bus to work. I ended up buying a cheap little car and going back to home state for a better paying job but if it was not for this place I would have been on the streets. I beg any of the guys reading this. If you only have a week here or 2 then go to people ready staffing every day and save that money to help yourself. You do have a time limit at this place and I hope you use it well. If you are in need of a safe place and can not stay here I do not suggest at all staying on those streets at night. I would recommend sleeping near the PD station.
