I came to pathfinders as a new client in October 2023. I arrived on the day they do intakes, early at 1:30 pm under the impression that intakes start being taken at 2. The entire time I waited in the lobby to be helped I had to listen to the receptionists personal phone conversation on their personal iPhone against my will. Once 2 came around the woman who was to do intakes decided then was actually a good time to go pick up her daughter from school- in the middle of her work shift. She didn’t get back until at least 30 minutes later. I was helped shortly after she returned- with her daughter, and completed my intake process. I hadn’t heard from pathfinders in a while regarding practically anything. I was at the time being warned of an impending eviction by my landlord. I’d call and ask for an update and get transferred to a random person who is itching to get off the phone with me and says anything to get me to hang up, in my opinion. By December the eviction was filed against me so I returned to Pathfinders in person in hopes for some progress. When I returned I was met with great confusion. The receptionist is wanting to put me down as an intake. I explain I’ve already done that process. Eventually someone who looks like they can help me comes from that door and I practically beg to be heard out. I explain my situation and they assure me they will help me- right after they come back. At least 30 minutes later the woman returns and I learn that her name is ‘Bernice’. After I explain my situation and so far experience with pathfinders she apologizes to me however admits something similar or along the lines of- the day I did my intake, no one put my information into the system, they don’t even know where the paper work I did is. No one ever took the paper work and put it in the computer. Bernice informed me through text message that I would need to come in and do another intake. I let her know through text that I already did an intake on this date and with this person, and I’ve never heard from her again.
