I called this morning trying to find help for a client and I spoke to a very rude woman called Mellisa, I asked her if she had to get my clients date of birth to assist her she said yes. she told me they use this information to acquire funding. after I gave her all the details which I was not willing to offer if they were not going to assist a survivor of Domestic violence, she told me she was sorry they didn't have funding to assist. It's very sad to say the least for a survivor who is in crisis to be lied to by an agency that prides itself in assisting survivors. Its okay to say at the beginning I am sorry we cannot assist you but your information since we spoke to you will assist us look with future r grants. when I called her out compassionately , and told her to delete my clients name and date of birth she hanged up the phone. This type of people should not be helping survivors whose voices and choices were taken away, they play the same tactics that perpetrators play. Shame on them. I ask that the program direct teach compassion and avoid extending violence to survivors in-crises .

Carlie at OSP, has been a rock. She is so sweet and soft spoken. I do hope she's able to get me more assistance. It wouldn't be for lack of her trying. So far not alot has happened. Spoke with legal aide but that's really slow too. I dunno. Pray for me please. I'm facing eviction now with nowhere to go.

Their services are not understated. A temporary stay emergency shelter with resources and employees that make you feel welcome, valued, and accommodate to your needs. Advocates go above and beyond the average assistance experience to put you in a place that isn't "just another bed", given the time that they have. I only wish there were more facilities of this caliber that could offer long term stays.
