Poor, very poor treatment that my husband and I, BOTH experienced! Only care about drugging and medicating patient, not fixing the actual problem, SMH. DO NOT RECCOMEND!! 😢

They have helped my husband TREMENDOUSLY. My husband is bipolar with schizoaffective disorder. When I first went there 11 years ago I was at my wits end and suicidal because of dealing with him and his paranoia. The Dr took one look at me and KNEW! Peninsula Dr was NO help!!!! They found right meds immediately and it is so much more manageable now. The only thing I don't like is their new scheduling system. You have to call on certain date to make next appointment instead of them making it when you check out like they used to do. Also Genoa staff are 10 stars!!! Those pharmacists are on top of it!! They gave his meds filled and mailed before I even call. Love you guys!!

I'm starting to realize this place isn't really about helping people. For example, there's a program called P.A.T.H. that's supposed to help with people in situations of homelessness, but in order to get into it, the person has to take pysch medication in order to be qualified regardless if that's what they don't need. That's really wrong and controlling to the population that's needing help. It's a big price to ask a person or force someone to have his or her brain medicated with in order to get help for what they really need, food, clothes, a place, and support.

I have been a client since the early 2000s. Most of the people I have interacted with are polite and courteous. I would have to say I have encountered a few people who are condescending and really do not seem to care about your well being. There is one psychiatrist that I especially do not like and I often wonder how she ever got a medical license. My current prescriber is a nurse practitioner and is very pleasant to work with. During my long history here I have had many prescribers and most I have had a good rapport with. If you don't mind associating with very ill people sometimes and going to the lower class part of town for treatment, then I think you will do just fine receiving your psychiatric care at this facility. I am rating HRMC three stars for average.

My son was told to stop a medication and he ended up in the emergency room....he was having withdrawals from the medicine they told him to stop....yeah...you can't just stop it..he is so sick and dehydrated. They haven't helped in his 7 years of going there and going to find a doctor who will take the time to help him. The adult center is just as bad...just using people as guinea pigs...i hope this lady doesn't do this to anyone else. Tennessee needs more facilities for people who struggle with anxiety and depression. Its sad...
