In my line of work I refer people to resources and every single person I’ve referred here for legal help has had a poor experience. I can’t even find another organization that provides legal aid for individuals who can’t find a lawyer. Please, if you have had a poor experience with this organization, report it with the TN non-profit complaint form. It is unacceptable that this many people have been treated poorly. Who is this organization helping if no one can get past the rude receptionist?

Can confirm, the intake person Mrs. Henry is: Cold as ice. No personality. Unempathetic.
They hang up on you and act bothered to do the job.
Meanwhile, it's obvious from the reviews......they need to start listening.

Secretary/ woman who answers the phones is very rude and speaks as if she’s completely drained and lifeless. Unless your case is serious (like physical abuse, etc.) they will deny you.

I contact Legal Aid because the Attorney Generals office could not help me so they directed me here. I spoke to someone named Ann, when I asked her questions that pertained to my situation she told me she could not answer them and told me not to ask them. Accused me of having an attitude, told me I need to contact an attorney and pay them. I told her I do not have money and don't deserve to be treated this way just because I'm poor. I thought legal ad was a service for people that need legal help that can't afford a attorney instead they treat you like trash and are very rude. I would not recommend anyone donate money to an organization like this, they are not there to help people, just looking for a free ride and using poor people to get it.
