FOR BOTH THE WOMEN'S & MEN'S SIDE: The staff is not the problem here & seem to do their job VERY WELL!! 1) EXTREMELY OVERCROWDED!! Lots of ppl sleeping on floors & chairs 2) food is horrible MOST OF THE TIME but sometimes ok and seldom good 3) far too much theft occurring DAILY even with security & cameras 4) no children allowed due to violent & criminal environment. 5) DISEASE is not rampant but common -- airborne & other 6) shower water usually real warm but often cold 7) LOTS OF PPL WITH DANGEROUS OR JUST SERIOUS MENTAL PROBS 8) It is organized & well set up but not too well ran

The Serenity Program is an amazing program I must say. Absolutely fantastic opportunity I must say. Only problems, which to me is unacceptable is staff need to make sure they know and follow the rules so they don't misguide you and get you in trouble, and they need to set example and watch their unnecessary attitude. And food, they really need an overhaul on food and meals so people like myself and son aren't nutritionally deprived and literally starving all day. And if they need help with providing food, they should accept the help, not turn someone down that wants to contribute. But that can all be fixed, if they're willing and care. And I know they do! Overall great place and mostly wonderful staff.

They’re always blasting music during the day. I live at least 200ft away and can hear their music, not to mention a preacher also screaming and keep in mind they do these INSIDE and yet you can still hear the nonsense from inside your home. I have called to make multiple noise complaints and have even heard the music blasting on the phone so it’s for sure them and they said “it’s daytime hours” like okay still not an excuse to have music blasting and someone yelling like a banshee throughout most of the day and on a daily basis. Just wondering if police were ever involved if other people have made noise complaints. This is supposed to be a homeless shelter, not a church or a concert. I just moved to this area so I’m unsure if the blasting music and yelling on a daily basis is “normal”

This may be my only review ever. I’ve been going to KARM about 2-3 years now. The employees are friendly and a great place to shop. Yes, sometimes high prices but also low. I can tell you this that I have spent thousands of dollars at the KARM stores. They keep a record when you give them your cell or home number. For a non profit with no money purchasing items they make 100% off donations. Yes I know there is overhead. But trust me they’re wouldn’t be so many if money wasn’t made. Today I’m done with KARM for knowing an item plugs in. Sealing a box so tight you couldn’t get in without a knife. Then would proceed to tell me an item doesn’t plug in when it says on the box. Home and auto. It has a plug. Let me rephrase that. Not only would it plug in the plug wasn’t in the box. No where on the box did it say no plug so it will not work. When I caught it at register it was too late. Got no help and nothing done. It says no returns on items that don’t plug in. But this does when it has the plug that should be in the box. Paint me stupid but it amazes me that with all the money spent to help hunger. I’d help. Now all money I spent on meals is over. If I’m wrong, then I apologize but if not. Shame on you for not helping me and fixing my situation. I apologize for run on’s and any misspelled words. It makes me not want to help another organization if they do that to others. Too bad!!!
